2. Information we collect

Information you give us, in the showroom, online, by phone, or by email:

  • Name, email address, phone number, billing and delivery address.
  • What you buy, order or ask about, what you pay, and your delivery details.
  • Payment information. Card payments are handled by our payment processors, and we don't keep full card numbers.
  • Messages you send us, and your marketing preferences.
  • Inquiry and project information. When you request staging, design services, furniture rental or a quote, we collect your name, company, role (for example real estate agent, builder or property manager), contact details, property address, and project details such as timing, rooms and budget.
  • Rental, staging and service information. If you rent furniture or book staging or another service, we collect your agreement details, delivery and pickup information, a deposit or payment card kept on file, and property access details such as gate, lockbox or door codes.
  • Phone calls. We may record calls with us for quality and training. We'll tell you at the start of the call.
  • Security video. Our showroom and warehouse use security cameras, which may record you when you visit.
  • Photos and video. We may photograph or film homes we stage, furnish or deliver to, for quotes, records and marketing.

Information collected automatically when you use our website or open our emails:

  • Device and browser information, IP address and approximate location, the pages and products you view, how you arrived at the site, and whether you opened or clicked an email.
  • This is collected with cookies, pixels (including the Meta Pixel), tags (including Google tags) and similar technologies. See section 5.
  • QR codes and property pages. Some staged homes display a QR code that links to a page about that property. When you scan it or visit the page, we collect the device and usage information described above, plus anything you submit, such as a catalog request.
  • Live chat. Our website chat is provided by Intercom and may be answered by an automated assistant. We collect your messages and any details you share in the chat.
  • Heatmaps and session recording. We use Shopify tools that record how you use our website, such as the pages you view, where you click and how far you scroll, so we can improve the site.

Information from others:

  • Advertising and analytics partners, for example which ad you saw or clicked before visiting us.
  • Delivery and service partners.
  • Publicly available sources.
  • Marketplaces and sales channels where you buy our products, such as TikTok Shop, which share order and delivery details with us.
  • Social media platforms, including lead forms you submit and messages or comments you send us.
  • Financing partners, which may share your application status and account details with us.
  • Real estate professionals, builders and other partners who refer you to us.
  • Public property listings, which we use to contact real estate professionals about our services.

3. How we use it

  • To sell and deliver your order: processing payment, scheduling and making deliveries, sending receipts and delivery notices, and customer service.
  • To provide staging, rental and design services: preparing quotes and proposals, scheduling installs and pickups, and following up on your request.
  • To measure our advertising. We tell advertising platforms (currently Meta, which runs Facebook and Instagram, and Google) about purchases made online and in our showroom. They can then tell us whether our ads led to sales, and show our ads more efficiently.
  • To show ads to you and to people like you. We may give advertising platforms lists of customers, so they can show you our ads (custom audiences) or find people with similar interests (lookalike audiences). We may also leave you out of ads, for example for something you already bought.
  • To build ad audiences. We may upload customer lists, directly or through Shopify (including Shopify Audiences) and our email platform, to the advertising partners in section 4. They use the lists to show ads to customers, to find similar people, or to leave customers out of ads.
  • To follow up on QR code and property-page visits, including showing you our ads on social media.
  • To contact real estate professionals and businesses about our services, using contact details they've given us or that are publicly listed.
  • To show our work: using photos of homes we've staged or furnished in our portfolio, social media and ads. We won't publish images that identify you, your family or your address without permission.
  • To understand you as one customer. We may link what you do on our website, in our emails and in our showroom, using details such as your email address or phone number. Then we can understand how people shop with us, and avoid sending you messages that don't fit.
  • To send you marketing by email and text, where you've agreed to it or the law allows. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and you can reply STOP to any text.
  • To improve our products, showroom and website.
  • To prevent fraud, keep our systems secure, and meet our legal obligations.

4. How we share it

Service providers who work for us under contract: Shopify (our online store), website hosting and builders, payment processors, delivery partners, customer relationship management (CRM) and workflow tools, automation tools, email and text messaging providers, inventory and point-of-sale systems, file storage, analytics providers, and artificial intelligence (AI) tools we use to prepare quotes and manage inquiries. Shopify's privacy policy: https://www.shopify.com/legal/privacy

Advertising partners, currently Meta (Facebook and Instagram), Google (including YouTube), TikTok, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Spotify and OpenAI, for the uses in section 3. When we share contact details such as your email address, phone number, name or postal code with an advertising partner, we first convert them into a coded form using a one-way cryptographic hash (SHA-256). The partner uses the coded value only to look for a match among its own users. Hashing protects your details in transit, but it doesn't make the information anonymous, so we treat it as personal information and honor your opt-out choices. Along with that value, we share what you bought, how much you spent, and when. Each partner uses this information under its own privacy policy.

Under some state laws, sharing information with advertising partners in this way can count as a "sale" of personal information, or as "sharing" it for targeted advertising. We do it, and you can opt out (section 6). We don't sell lists of customer information for money.

Text messaging: we never share your text messaging opt-in or consent with anyone else, and we never let anyone else text you using it.

Financing partners. We offer financing through Synchrony Bank and pay-over-time through Shop Pay Installments, which is provided by Affirm. If you apply, the lender collects your information under its own privacy policy and may share your application status and account details with us. Synchrony: https://www.synchrony.com/privacy · Affirm: https://www.affirm.com/privacy

Marketplaces. When you buy through a marketplace such as TikTok Shop, that marketplace also handles your information under its own privacy policy.

Partners. We don't share your information with partners, such as referral partners or co-marketing brands, for their own use.

Other disclosures: when the law requires it, for example in response to a subpoena or court order; to protect our rights, our customers or others; and to a buyer or successor if our business is sold or reorganized.

5. Cookies, pixels and similar technologies

Our website uses:

  • Necessary cookies that make the store work, such as the cart, checkout and login.
  • Analytics from Shopify and Google Analytics, to understand how the site is used.
  • Advertising technologies from Meta and Google, to measure and tailor our ads.

Shopify lists the cookies its stores use at https://www.shopify.com/legal/cookies. Most cookies expire between 30 minutes and two years after they're set.

Our staging website, dwellstaging.com, is hosted on Wix, which sets its own cookies: https://support.wix.com/en/article/cookies-and-your-wix-site. Our website chat uses Intercom, which sets cookies to run the chat: https://www.intercom.com/legal/privacy. Shopify heatmap and session-recording tools also use cookies and similar technologies.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may break parts of the site. You can also opt out of targeted ads from:

Other platforms we advertise on, including TikTok, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Spotify and OpenAI, let you manage ad preferences in your account settings on each platform.

Blocking cookies doesn't stop us sharing purchase information with advertising partners as described in section 4. To stop that, use section 6.

We don't change what we do in response to browser "Do Not Track" signals, because there's no common standard for them. We do honor Global Privacy Control (section 6).

6. Your choices

  • Marketing email: use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or contact us.
  • Text messages: reply STOP to any message to opt out, or HELP for help. Marketing texts are sent only with your consent, message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. See our SMS Terms: dwellhomemarket.com/pages/sms-terms.
  • Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information: email customerservice@dwellandcompany.co with the subject "Do Not Sell or Share", or use the "Your Privacy Choices" link at the bottom of our website (dwellhomemarket.com/pages/data-sharing-opt-out). Please include the email address and/or phone number you shop with. Within 15 business days we will stop sending your information to advertising partners, including your showroom purchases, and we'll confirm when it's done.
  • Global Privacy Control: if your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of sale and sharing for that browser.

7. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • know what personal information we've collected about you, and get a copy
  • correct inaccurate information
  • delete your information
  • opt out of the sale or sharing of your information, and of targeted advertising
  • appeal if we turn down a request

To make a request, email customerservice@dwellandcompany.co. We'll verify your identity by matching details you give us against our records. You can also call us at (813) 602-0360. We'll respond within 45 days, and if we need more time we'll tell you why. If we deny your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision or emailing customerservice@dwellandcompany.co with the subject "Appeal". We'll respond to appeals within 45 days. We don’t collect government ID numbers or precise location. We use payment details and property access codes only to provide the order or service you asked for, and we don’t use them to infer anything about you. An authorized agent can make a request for you, with your written permission. We won't treat you differently, or charge you more, for using these rights.

If you're outside the United States, our services are run from the United States, and your information is processed there.

8. How long we keep it

  • Purchase and delivery records: 7 years, for tax and accounting.
  • Marketing and advertising information: until you opt out, or 3 years after your last purchase or contact with us, whichever comes first.
  • Inquiry and lead records: 3 years after our last contact with you.
  • Rental and service agreements: 7 years after the agreement ends.
  • Photos of homes: for as long as we use them in our portfolio or marketing, or until you ask us to remove them.
  • Information sent to advertising partners: kept by them under their own retention policies. We stop sending new information when you opt out.

9. How we protect it

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards. These include limiting who can see customer data and hashing contact details before we share them for advertising. No system is perfectly secure.

10. Children

Our website and store are not intended for anyone under 18. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children, or sell or share it. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it. We don't knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We'll post the new version here with a new effective date. If the changes are significant, we'll take reasonable steps to let you know.
